TeleSpan to Broadcast Annual Predictions for the Teleconferencing Industry: Accuracy of Prior Predictions Over 70% for Ten Years Running
Thursday January 5, 7:35 pm ET
ALTADENA, Calif., Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, January 13, 2006 at 1:00 PM EST, TeleSpan Publishing Corporation will stream its 2006 predictions, prior to releasing them in the annual Predictions Edition of Electronic TeleSpan, the industry's foremost newsletter. The predictions will cover pricing trends in voice, video, and Webconferencing, as well as TeleSpan's pick of companies that will "hit the wall" or be picked up in consolidations in the next 24-36 months. The predictions will be presented by Elliot M. Gold, President of TeleSpan.

TeleSpan's accuracy in making predictions is unparalleled. Since 1996, Gold has made 100 predictions (10 each year), with a running accuracy score of over 70% (71 accurate predictions out of 100). This gives him the highest batting average in the industry (other analyst groups and Wall Street firms typically have accuracies well below 50%). As a result, many analysts on Wall Street have considered TeleSpan "the authoritative source in teleconferencing" since its inception in 1981.
The 2006 predictions will be presented by Gold during a Webcast, co-sponsored by ACT Teleconferencing (OTC: ACTT - News). Gold will also review each of his predictions from 2005, giving them a thumbs-up or -down. To follow through on the "thumbs-up and thumbs-down" analogy, and to liven things up, Elliot will engage J.D. Vaughn, TeleSpan guest columnist and long time veteran of the teleconferencing industry, in a "Siskel and Ebert"-style, lively debate on the predictions. Listeners to the Webcast will be invited to submit their own thumbs-up and -down for Gold and Vaughn to comment on.
TeleSpan and ACT are limiting the number of attendees to the live Webcast, but will archive the hour-long event through April 13, 2006. Attendees can register on TeleSpan's Web site, www.telespan.com or on ACT's Web site, www.events.acttel.com/telespan2006.
