Big gold discovery north of Fairbanks announced


FAIRBANKS -- A gold find at Livengood is one of the largest new gold discoveries in the world in the past decade, an exploration company said.

International Tower Hill released Wednesday an updated estimate of reserves at the property about 70 miles north of Fairbanks. The company said the gold resource estimate is 70 percent greater than they believed it to be in October.

The find has topped 5 million ounces and ITH President Jeffrey Pontius expects the total gold contained will hit 10 million ounces.

"We have found a really exceptional concentration of gold that Mother Nature put out there," he said. "That's a tremendous thing."

Further exploration will determine how much of that is recoverable, and under what type of process. Drilling will continue through the winter, and early economic estimates that may determine how to mine the gold are expected in July, he said.

Pontius sees a promising future for gold.

"People are looking at that as a safe haven in these economic times," he said. "That's going to be a big demand in the future."

Vergleichbar ist es eh nicht, aber ein Anhalt, was eine Unze wert sein kann. Ein Drittel davon sollte auch genug Sicherheit haben. OSK ist viel weiter und hat nen Sack voll Cash. Und selbst wenn man mit einem viertel ran geht, hat ITH immer noch gut 50% Aufholpotenzial. Um auf den heutigen Stand von OSK zu kommen, brauchen wir 100mio Aktien outstanding. 20mio Dollar aus den Warrants und Options für die notwendigen Arbeiten (sind dann 55mio) + ein PP zu 3 mit 45mio Stücken. Das wären dann 60mio wenige,r als OSK OS hat und die MK immer noch weniger als die Hälfte von OSK.

Nach Fräulein Milchmädchen gerechnet und sicherlich diskutabel im Detail!

Vancouver, British Columbia, September 8, 2016 – International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. (“ITH” or the “Company”) (TSX: ITH; NYSE-MKT: THM) today announced the results of a Pre-Feasibility Study (the “PFS”) on an optimized configuration for its Livengood Gold Project (the “Project”) located near Fairbanks, Alaska.  The engineering optimization studies incorporated in the PFS evaluated several scenarios, ultimately selecting a project that will process 52,600 tons per day and produce 6.8 million ounces of gold over 23 years.  This improved configuration has reduced the capital costs (“CAPEX”) by 34% or $950 million to $1.84 billion, the process operating cost (“process OPEX”) by 28% or $2.97 per ton to $7.48 per ton, and the all-in sustaining costs by 16% or $242 to $1,263 per ounce, all as compared to the 100,000 tons per day project evaluated in the September 2013 Feasibility Study (the “FS”).  All dollar figures in this news release are stated in US Dollars.
