SALT LAKE CITY, Feb 2, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fonix(R) Corp. (FNIX) , an international provider of easy-to-use voice interfaces for devices and systems, has joined the Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) Tools & Middleware Program to integrate Fonix voice command interface solutions into PlayStation(R)2 game titles. Fonix anticipates selling its voice command solution for PlayStation(R)2 to global game developers early in 2004.
We believe that PlayStation(R) is recognized as the undisputed world leader in the games entertainment industry. Now PlayStation(R)2 software title developers can add Fonix's superior voice interface to game titles, making the player's experience more engaging, exciting and realistic.
"Participating in SCEI's Tools & Middleware Program is a great opportunity for Fonix," said Tim K. Hong, vice president of Fonix Mobile Wireless. "The Fonix solution allows game developers to implement voice commands without requiring large amounts of memory."
The Fonix voice command solution is available to game developers in multiple languages, including English and U.K. English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese.
