Introducing the ThermaVoltTM System
WorldWater & Solar Projects Update
Greetings! Welcome to our first edition of the Entech Solar Newsletter. This has been created to keep you up-to-date on Entech Solar news and progress. Already in 2009, Entech Solar has made several changes to support its continued growth:
§The Company has changed its name from WorldWater & Solar Technologies to Entech Solar
§The Company has refocused its core business on the manufacturing of concentrating solar energy systems
§David Gelbaum of The Quercus Trust has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors
§Entech Solar has undertaken significant cost reduction activities
WorldWater & Solar Technologies Corp. changed its corporate name to Entech Solar, Inc. (the "Company"), effective January 12, 2009.
"Entech Solar is a name that more accurately reflects the transformation of our business since our acquisition of ENTECH in January 2008," said Frank Smith, Entech Solar's CEO. "Today, we are a concentrating solar technology company focused on providing our advanced, cost-competitive modules to commercial and industrial customers. Entech's core strategy will be on manufacturing and selling the company's breakthrough ThermaVoltTM product, a combined photovoltaic and thermal concentrating solar system."
In conjunction with the name change, Entech Solar has also relocated its headquarters from Ewing, NJ, to Fort Worth, TX, where its state-of-the-art, 70,000 square foot, 200MW capacity manufacturing facility is located.
Entech Solar's breakthrough product, the ThermaVolt System, is a concentrating solar system that simultaneously produces electricity and thermal energy.
Benefits include:
§Highest Efficiency:
Produces 3-4X as much energy as standalone PV
§Low-Cost:
Uses 95% less silicon than traditional PV
§Reliable Production:
90% error tolerant Fresnel Lens design enables reliable,
continuous energy production in even the harshest environments
§Fixed Hedge Against Natural Gas and Electricity:
Reduces customer's vulnerability to increasing, volatile natural gas and electricity prices
Entech Solar's legacy company WorldWater & Solar Technologies Corp. was primarily involved in commercial-scale solar installation projects. Entech Solar continues to work on and complete WorldWater's legacy projects, such as the 1.1MW Valley Center installation (see right). In 2008, WorldWater & Solar was awarded the “Renewable Energy Project of the Year” by the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association (TREIA) for its San Benito, TX, project. Notable projects include:
§1.1MW Valley Center
§376kW Ocean City
§2MW Denver Airport
§2MW Fresno Airport
Entech Solar will continue providing the engineering and project management expertise of WorldWater for its concentrating solar systems projects. This vertical integration further increases Entech Solar's value proposition by reducing system costs and improving customers' return on investment.
Entech Solar's Manufacturing Facility
Entech Solar's new manufacturing facility is located in Fort Worth, TX. Highlights include:
State-of-the-art§
§70,000 ft2.
§200MW capacity potential
§50MW capacity built
