Scansoft hat aus der Konkursmasse von Lernout & Hauspie die Speech and Language Technilogie übernommen und ist jetzt führend im Bereich der Stimmerkennung und Sprachlösungen im Internet.
Heute wurde ein Vertrag mit Philips geschlossen,bereits am 7.März ein Vertrag mit Microsoft -und dies keineswegs bloss für ne Spielkonsole wie bei der Konkurrenz.

RealSpeak will be incorporated as the speech output component of SpeechMania, Philips' natural dialogue platform that automates telephone-based information and transaction services. ScanSoft's speech engine will also give a high-quality voice to Philips' flagship SpeechPearl, a software-only solution that is integrated with voice processing platforms. SpeechPearl is used for a variety of telephone applications, such as unified messaging, customer care and information services, banking applications, name dialing and many others.

Microsoft and ScanSoft will demonstrate the new speech engine at the Digital Car Show in Detroit, Michigan, this week.
To provide Microsoft and the automotive industry with innovative speech technology, ScanSoft has developed a SAPI5-compliant version of the ScanSoft(R) RealSpeak(TM) Compact text-to-speech (TTS) engine. This technology is now available to major automotive vendors and will allow them to more easily incorporate the most human-sounding male and female voices available on the market today.
