SONICblue Announces Changes to Management

Team to Position Company for Accelerated Growth
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 26, 2002--Following its
announcement of strong first quarter results and increased 2002 revenue guidance,
SONICblue(TM) Incorporated (Nasdaq:SBLU - news) today announced management
changes designed to help the Company accelerate its 2002 growth plan. These
organizational steps finalize the Company's restructuring efforts, which began last year with
the creation of its new business lines and functional organization.
The Company will intensify its focus on marketing, taking advantage of strong demand
opportunities being demonstrated across its multiple product lines. The Company has
hired Greg Ballard as executive vice president of marketing and product management,
reporting to Ken Potashner, CEO and chairman, SONICblue. Ballard served as chief
executive officer at 3dfx, where he grew revenue from $4 million to a run-rate of over
$400 million over a three-year period, and subsequently served as chief executive officer
at MyFamily.com, a successful subscription based Internet service. He previously served
as chief executive officer and chief operating officer for Warner Custom Music, a Division
of Time Warner, Inc.
Nikhil Balram will be joining SONICblue as vice president of product marketing for
ReplayTV and connected home products, reporting to Ballard. Balram served as
executive vice president and general manager of consumer products at Sage
Incorporated, where he established a rapidly growing, high-margin business. Previously,
Balram served as vice president of advanced technology at Faroudja Laboratories, Inc.
Marcus Smith, as previously announced, will serve and interim chief financial officer. Smith
previously served as vice president of finance for SONICblue. He has also served in
financial management leadership roles at ReplayTV, Storm Technology, Inc. and Price
Waterhouse LLP.
John Todd will move into a consulting capacity with the Company. Todd had previously
served as chief operating officer for SONICblue.
Anthony Wood, founder of ReplayTV, who also provided leadership for ReplayTV since its acquisition by SONICblue, will
provide strategic consulting to SONICblue, but has decided to also pursue dedicated personal projects.

BRCD ist eine von vielen an der NASI 100, wo man denkt, jetzt aber Schluss, müsste doch wieder anspringen. Mein Turnaroundfavorit an der NASI 100 ist
AMCC. Die 6,50 Dollar sollten doch wirklich halten, aber man weiss ja nie.
Bei Inktomi hab ich auch gedacht, die 3 Dollar sollten halten. Kurs hat sich
aber noch mal halbiert, sind allerdings auch aus dem NASI 100 geschmissen
worden, da kennen Fondsmanager keinen Pardon.
Freitag hat Alan Greenspan doch mal wieder eine Rede gehalten, und nach Greenspans Reden ist die NASDAQ immer gefallen, selbst als er die Zinsen mehrfach gesenkt hatte. Jetzt hat Greenspan verlangt, daß Aktienoptionspläne
bilanziell anders bewertet werden müssen. Was jenes im Einzelnen für die Bilanzen bedeutet, ist wohl noch völlig unklar.
Mal sehen, wie es weiter geht. Bis jetzt war es nach meiner Beobachtung so,
daß am zweiten Tag nach einer Rede von Greenspan die NASDAQ wieder kräftig
angezogen ist. Hoffentlich bleibt das so.

die würde ich erst mal abwarten, vor einem Einstieg.
Außerdem hat BRCD immmer schön an der seit 9 Wochen bestehenden kurzfristigen Abwärtstrendlinie gedreht. Ein Ausbruch nach unten würde mich nicht wundern.
12,5% der Aktien sind geshortet. Sollten die Zahlen auch nur leicht unter den Erwartungen liegen, werden die shorties nochmals kräftig auf BRCD einprügeln, um ihre Gewinne zu maximieren.
Das 2003er KGV liegt momentan immer noch knapp unter 50 !!!
Das 2002er KGV bei ca.90 !!

RealNetworks names Publicis as advertising agency

NEW YORK, May 13 (Reuters) - RealNetworks Inc (RNWK) Monday said it named Publicis in the West as its advertising agency of record, as the Internet media company seeks to boost the popularity of its RealOne software.
The account is worth an estimated $10 million, according to industry sources. Publicis in the West is a unit of French advertising group Publicis SA , which is poised to become the world's No. 4 ad company with its merger with privately-held Bcom3 Group.
RealOne, RealNetwork's subscription software for streaming audio and video over the Internet, can also record songs from a CD and store them on a computer hard-drive, or transfer them to a portable music player.
RealOne had about 600,000 subscribers at the end of its first-quarter, a 20 percent sequential increase.
"What we need to communicate is how unique it is to have the ability to interact with content," said Randy Browning, chairman and chief executive of Publicis in the West. "For example, (RealNetworks) has a deal with Major League Baseball where they can condense baseball games into 20 minutes and you can still see every at bat."
Browning said Publicis will initially create a print, online and outdoor ad campaign, with television commercials possibly to follow.
