Razorfish Announces Third Quarter 2001 Financial Results; Cash EPS In Line With
Guidance
NEW YORK, Oct 30, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Razorfish, Inc. (NASDAQ: RAZF), a
global digital solutions provider, today reported its financial results for the
quarter ended September 30, 2001.
For the three months ended September 30, 2001, revenues were $19.0 million,
which compares to $28.7 million for the second quarter of 2001 and $77.1 million
for the third quarter of 2000. Pro forma net loss (before amortization of
intangibles, stock-based compensation, restructuring and other charges) for the
third quarter of 2001 was ($1.4 million) or ($0.01) per share, which compares to
pro forma net loss of ($3.7 million) or ($.04) per share for the second quarter
2001 and pro forma net income of $0.9 million or $0.01 per share for the third
quarter 2000.
Jean-Philippe Maheu, chief executive officer of Razorfish said, "We are
satisfied at this time to meet our earnings guidance for the third quarter and
with our progress towards reaching profitability. Despite a variety of
unforeseen events and a deteriorated macroeconomic outlook, we continue to
strengthen our client relationships and business development capabilities, make
improvements across many of our operating metrics and focus on returning to
profitability."
"During the third quarter, we strengthened our relationship with Microsoft,"
continued Maheu. "We are part of a select group of companies who have access to
fully funded .NET programs. These programs enabled us to secure client
relationships with two major financial institutions and to generate additional
leads. This relationship offers great opportunities for our clients and we are
delighted to work so closely with Microsoft in the design and development of
value-added digital solutions."
"We continued to see long-time clients, including Ford Motor Company, US Trust,
a leading telecommunications and networking solutions provider, Genentech,
GlaxoSmithKline, Cisco Systems Logica, Bechtel, DirectTV, and Canadian
Broadcasting Company, engage us for additional work in the third quarter. We
also secured several new clients, some of which include Parsons Brinckerhoff,
Stella Entertainment, Mettler Toledo, Wesleyan University and a
biotech/pharmaceutical company. This is indicative of the strength of our
service offering and talent of our people. Razorfish's goal is to assist its
clients in creating and strengthening loyal and profitable relationships with
their customers and employees. We work with our clients to develop
Internet-based solutions designed to increase revenue and to improve the
efficiency of their processes. In the face of a challenging environment, our
clients are looking for value and Razorfish is providing it," Maheu added.
Razorfish continued to demonstrate improvements in many of its operational
