US chain store sales rose 0.3% in the week to June 14, boosted by buying for
the Fathers Day holiday, according to Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Ltd and UBS
Warburg. The gain reverses a 0.3% decline in the previous week. Sales were up
0.6 pct year-on-year compared with a 1.0 pct gain last week. BTM-UBSW said it
expects June sales to be up 2.0 pct.
