Porsche reiterates FY outlook, sold 8,663 Cayenne's since December 27.05.2003 14:45 Headlines
STUTTGART (AFX) - Porsche AG said it still expects full-year unit sales of
about 65,000 thanks to the successful launch of its off-roader Cayenne, which
will more than compensate for the decline in sales of the 911 and Boxster sports
car models.
Porsche added it still expects sales and earnings to be higher in its
business year ending July 31 in comparison to the previous year, profiting from
its currency hedging.
In the first nine months of its business year, Porsche said group sales rose
18.2 pct to 3.89 bln eur on unit sales rising 12.8 pct to 44,413.
Porsche said it has sold 8,663 Cayenne's since its launch in December. Unit
sales of the Boxster fell 12.5 pct to 14,425, while unit sales of the 911 fell
6.8 pct to 22,888.
Porsche said receding consumer sentiment affected in particular sales of the
911 and Boxster.
Output in the first nine months rose 24 pct to 51,358 units.
