EuroGas Executes Usufruct Agreement to Explore for Oil & Gas in
1,150,000 Acre Tract in Southeast Poland
New York, NY - February 9, 2000 - EuroGas, Inc. today announced that
its wholly-owned subsidiary, EuroGas Polska sp.zo.o. executed a
Usufruct agreement with the Ministry of Environmental Protection,
Natural Resources and Forestry of the Republic of Poland to explore
for and develop oil and gas resources in a large area of southeast
Poland.
A Usufruct agreement is a prerequisite to an exploration and
production Concession in Poland and secures the right for EuroGas
to convert to a Concession to explore for and produce hydrocarbons
in the Usufruct area.
The area, representing over 4,600 km2 (approximately 1,150,000
acres) of exploration acreage, lies between the prolific Boryslaw
oil region of Ukraine and the historic oil-producing region of
Krosno in Poland. (See a map of the concession area

25 oil and gas fields in this important portion of the Carpathian
Oil thrust belt province, however much of the Usufruct area remains
to be explored. The majority of these oil and gas fields are at
shallow depths with deeper potential defined along trend. Thrust
belts are immensely important in global oil and gas terms, providing
over one quarter of the world`s oil and gas production. Modern
seismic techniques have confirmed the existence of deeper oil and
gas potential with the identification of some 14 targets by Polish
Oil and Gas Company (POGC) in a recent study for EuroGas.

EuroGas unterzeichnet Nutzungsvertrag zur Exploration von Erdoel
und Erdgas auf 1.150.000 acre grossem Gebiet in Sued-Ost-Polen.
EuroGas hat heute mitgeteilt, dass ihre 100% Tochtergesellschaft
EuroGas Polska sp.zo.o mit dem Ministerium fuer Umweltschutz,
Bodenschaetze und Forstwirtschaft der Republik Polen einen
Nutzungsvertrag unterzeichnet hat, der die Exploration fuer Erdoel
und Erdgas auf einem grossen Gebiet in Sued Polen vorsieht.
Ein Nutzungsvertrag ist die Voraussetzung fuer eine Explorations-
und Produktionskonzession in Polen und sichert fuer EuroGas das
Recht den Nutzungsvertrag in eine Konzession zu wandeln, um nach
Kohlewasserstoffen auf dem Nutzungsgebiet zu explorieren und zu
produzieren.
Die in Frage kommende Explorations-Flaeche bedeckt ueber 4.600
Quadratkilometer (ca.1.150.000 acres) und liegt zwischen der
bedeutenden Boryslaw Erdoel-Region der Ukraine und der historischen
Erdoel produzierenden Region von Krosno in Polen. (Siehe auch die

Es gibt in dieser wichtigen Gegend des Faltungsguertels der
Karpaten-Erdoel-Provinz ueber 25 Erdoel-und Erdgasfelder, jedoch
ist ein grosser Teil der Nutzungsflaeche noch unerforscht. Die
Mehrheit dieser Erdoel-und Erdgasfelder liegen in geringer Tiefe,
wobei das Potential in tieferen Schichten entlang des Trendes zu
finden ist.
Faltungsguertel sind immens wichtig bei der Beurteilung der globalen
Erdoel-und Erdgasgeologie und ueber ein Viertel der Erdoel-und
Erdgasproduktion der Welt entstammt aus diesen Schichten. Moderne
seismische Untersuchungsmethoden die von Polish Oil and Gas Company
(POGC) angewendet wurden, haben die Existenz von 14 potentiellen
tiefen Erdoel-und Erdgasschichten laut einem kuerzlich an EuroGas
uebergebenen Bericht festgestellt.
