2005/05/20 11:09
(Infocast News) iSteelAsia (8080) is introducing the venture capital firm Ajia as its new controlling shareholder. In order to reflect the change in shareholder, the company proposed changing its name to " North Asia Strategic Holdings Limited" .
After the acquisition of stake by Ajia, the Ajia parties intend to conduct a review of the business operations and financial position of the company. It is the intention of the North Asia Strategic Acquisition and Moses Kwok-tai Tsang (Ajia parties) that the company should carry on its existing business in trading of steel products and the provision of procurement services for steel products, ancillary services and investment holding. However, the Ajia parties have no intention or plans to inject any assets or business of their own into the company.
According to the announcement Ajia proposed the appointment of 3 new Board members, including Savio Sing-nam Chow, who is the lead partner for the Ajia Group's special situations group. Prior to joining Ajia, he served as a Consultant at E.M. Warburg Pincus & Co. Asia Ltd. as well as the Managing Director of Yahoo! Inc. responsible for Asia. He was also an Executive Director of MediaNation Inc. (8160) during July 2002 to February 2003. The other 2 proposed new Board members are Henry Kim Cho and Goran Sture Malm.
