Buru Energy Limited is an Australian ASX listed company focused on exploring and developing the petroleum resources of the Canning Superbasin, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Buru's goal is to deliver material benefits to its shareholders, the Kimberley community and the Traditional Owners of the areas in which it operates by successfully exploring for and developing the petroleum resources of the Canning Superbasin.
In 2012 Buru is planning an extensive program of appraisal drilling and evaluation to build on the success of its 2011 exploration program. The 2012 appraisal program is designed to confirm the extent of Buru's oil discovery at Ungani and wet gas accumulations at the Yulleroo field and in the Valhalla area. This appraisal program will be in addition to an ongoing exploration program targeting new conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon resources of significant size.
Success in the 2012 appraisal program will allow Buru to commit to the full field development of its significant oil and wet gas resources, delivering gas to Perth, enhancing Western Australia's energy security and facilitating the sustainable growth of the Kimberley.
