EVN provides electricity, gas, heating, drinking water supply, wastewater disposal, and thermal waste treatment “from a single source” in its home market, based on state-of-the-art infrastructure. Additionally, its product portfolio includes the operation of networks for cable TV and telecommunications, as well as various energy services for private and business customers, as well as municipalities.

The energy business abroad includes the sale of electricity to end customers in Germany, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia, the sale of gas to end customers in Croatia, and electricity production in North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania, and Germany. Further activities include heat production and sales to end customers in Bulgaria, the procurement of electricity, gas, and other primary energy sources, as well as trading in electricity and gas on wholesale markets.

With the acquisition of a German environmental services group in 2003, EVN was able to establish the environmental business as a second strategic pillar and integrate it into its business model. With over 100 environmental projects, EVN has extensive expertise in planning and constructing drinking water supply and wastewater disposal facilities, desalination plants, as well as thermal waste and sewage sludge treatment plants.

Around 4.9 million customers relied on EVN’s secure supply of energy and environmental products and services in the 2023/24 financial year.

Overall, the EVN Group operated in 13 countries during the 2023/24 financial year. In the 2022/23 financial year, 52.7% of revenue was generated outside Austria in the Central, Eastern, and Southeastern European markets (previous year: 52.8%).
