Sema offers Telecom Italia prepaid services
LONDON, June 26 (Reuters) - Anglo-French software and services group Sema Group said on Monday it would supply Telecom Italia Mobile
(TIM) with a range of pre-paid services to facilitate billing and prevent fraud.
Sema said it would offer TIM -- which has more pre-paid subscribers than any other mobile operator -- pre-paid administration systems and "hot
billing" through cash machines or WAP mobile Internet systems.
Sema, which is merging with U.S.-German software firm LHS Group Inc , said the new interface would allow for real-time fraud control and
increase revenue per subscriber by offering international roaming services.
Around 82 percent of TIM's 35 million-strong customer base used pre-paid services, Sema said in a statement.
Sema said it expected to complete its merger with LHS on July 29, following an extraordinary general meeting on July 21 and a special meeting
for LHS stockholders on July 27, it said in a separate statement.
