Korean consumer electronics manufacturer LG Electronics selected Commerce One 5.0 for e-procurement and e-sourcing. LG Electronics' procurement system will be built and maintained by GTWEB Korea, Commerce One announced.
LG Electronics evaluated several systems during a 60-day pilot before selecting CommerceOne. The company said it's seeking better return on investment from its nearly $5 billion in annual purchasing. The company also said it expects its purchasing costs to be reduced by $190 million.
