infineon licenses MIPS Technologies 64-bit core
NOV 10, 2000, M2 Communications - Infineon Technologies AG, a provider of
semiconductor and system solutions and memory products, has licensed the MIPS64
5Kc processor core from MIPS Technologies.
The MIPS processor core will by used by Infineon in next generation integrated
access devices (IADs) and specialised LAN switching applications.
Infineon is also to license a MIPS64 5Kc-based subsystem, which will be
integrated into the company's system-on-chip solutions. The financial terms of
the deal were not disclosed.
