I2 would be a nice fit for IBM's business services strategy and the company has done a lot of work to ensure that the product can work with DB2 so from a technology fit it would work as well.... This was first rumored last year and was dismissed for a variety of reasons not the least of which was IBM's poor experience at acquiring businesses in the past... they have in general preferred to grow their own technologies.... but IBM is working from a position of fear which is derived from the fact that they know that they want to leave the hardware business or at a minimum look to other areas for their future growth...
