Beacon Power to Showcase Smart Power M5 Inverter at Nation's Largest Green Building Event
November 10, 2003 4:06:00 PM ET
Beacon Power Corporation BCON, a leader in sustainable energy storage and power conversion systems, will present the new Smart Power M5 inverter this week at the 2nd Annual Greenbuild Conference and Exposition, the largest gathering of green building designers and architects in the nation. Greenbuild 2003 takes place November 12-14 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Beacon Power will exhibit at Booth #1035.
Greenbuild 2003 is organized by the U.S. Green Building Council, the nation's leading coalition for advancing buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work. The conference serves as the pre-eminent showcase for leading-edge green technologies, featuring hundreds of exhibits and a range of educational programs focused on sustainability across a broad array of issues -- including site location and development, water use, and energy.
Last year's Greenbuild featured more than 200 exhibits and was attended by over 4,000 industry professionals, including green building designers, architects, contractors and green power providers. This year's event is expected to draw an even greater number in all categories. For more information, visit www.greenbuildexpo.org.
Bill Capp, Beacon Power president and CEO, said, "This event gives us the opportunity to showcase the M5's features and benefits to a truly relevant audience. The green building industry is expanding significantly, as evidenced by well-attended shows like this one. We look forward to presenting the advantages of the M5 to this new and growing market."
The Smart Power M5 is a high performance 5-kilowatt inverter for grid-connected solar power applications. It incorporates a range of components in one compact, integrated system, including inverter, charge controller with maximum power point tracking, switchgear, and battery back-up capability. Even in the event of a grid outage, the M5 will continue to provide photovoltaic (or battery) power to critical loads. Traditional grid-tied inverters without backup do not function when primary power fails.
