Trelleborg inaugurates new plant in Wuxi, China

Today, the Trelleborg Group is inaugurating a newly constructed plant for its Automotive business area in Wuxi in China's expansive Shanghai region. With increased production capacity in this state-of-the-art plant, Trelleborg will now be better able to meet increasing demand from the automotive industry in China.

The Wuxi plant, which has approximately 300 employees, will produce antivibration systems and other vehicle components. The plant replaces an earlier Trelleborg facility in Wuxi and represents a doubling of production capacity. The plant has a total area of nearly 20,000 square meters and has been designed according to high standards with regard to environmental considerations. Trelleborg Automotive has also recently opened a technical center in Shanghai.

"This is another stage in strengthening our leading position in China," says George Caplea, President of the Trelleborg Automotive business area. "We now have a best-in-class facility with enough capacity to meet growing demand, while we are also able to offer very favorable technical-development capacity, benefiting both domestic and international customers."

The inauguration, which will take place today, Friday, will be attended by guests from all around the world.
