MyVoice Basket enables mobile phone calls to be recorded at the touchof a button

A brainwave from Satama and Memorandum has made it possible to record
mobile phone calls. The invention has already led to a patent
application and is now featured in almost all new Nokia 3G mobile
telephones. Once the software is installed, all it takes is the touch
of a button to record phone calls.
 
"In all its simplicity, MyVoice Basket is an excellent example of a
user-friendly service that makes daily work easier and boosts
efficiency. We feel that this service represents specialisation at
its best, as recordings and the digital media are more and more
interlinked these days," says Kari Kemppi, Business Unit  Director,
Satama Mobility.
 
Recording phone calls is a necessary routine in many business
sectors. Stockbrokers and insurance dealers, for example, are forced
to stay by a landline in order to ensure that calls can be recorded
securely. MyVoice Basket now makes recording calls to mobile
telephones just as easy. The new invention by Satama and Memorandum
frees professionals who have to record their phone calls from the
constraints of their desks and allows them to go mobile.
 
"The core of this idea is that the recordings are not stored in the
phone itself but sent to a server or the user's own e-mail. This
prevents the phone's memory from filling up and takes care of
information security issues at the same time, as the recordings do
not stay in the phone's memory," explains Sami Kuusela from
Memorandum International Oy.
 
The recording service works in almost all new Nokia 3G mobile
telephones. Once the software is installed, it only takes the touch
of a button to record phone calls. Pressing the button makes the
phone automatically dial the recording system and connect the callers
with each other in a conference call in a couple of seconds, which is
when the recording starts.
 
"The user does not have to think about anything more than pressing a
single button, which initiates the recording and sends the phone call
automatically to the chosen e-mail address. For example, sales
representatives can record their phone calls while on the road and
send the recordings to a colleague's e-mail address, which allows the
company to get access to the order details straight away and complete
the process. At best, the order will be processed and the goods
shipped to the customer after a single phone conversation," says Pasi
Bordi, Project Manager at Satama Mobility.
 
MyVoice Basket will hit the market in spring 2007. Satama and
Memorandum lodged a joint patent application for the recording
innovation in February 2007.
