KONE wins order for Qindao-Jinan railway station building in China's Shangdong province

KONE Corporation, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry has won the order to supply 78 escalators for the new Qingdao-Jinan railway line main station building Hong Dao in the coastal city of Qingdao.

For several years, Qingdao has been named as China's most livable city, and it will see the construction of a 307km long high-speed railway line with a final destination in Jinan, the capital of Shangdong province. The one-way transport capacity of high-speed trains traveling between Qingdao and Jinan will be up to 50 million people per year.

For a smooth, safe and pleasant passenger experience, KONE will be equipping the Hong Dao station building with 78 KONE TransitMaster(TM) escalators, which are optimized for transit centers.

The Hong Dao station is designed by Hang Zhou China United Zhu Jing Architecture DESIGN Co., Ltd, developed by The Jinan Qingdao Railway Co. Ltd. and built by China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. The new station is expected to open for public in 2018.
 
The order was booked in the third quarter of 2017.
