KONE to modernize and maintain equipment at 360 Collins Street, a prestigious office building in Melbourne, Australia

KONE, a global leader in the elevator and escalator industry, has been selected by DEXUS Property Group (DEXUS) as its key modernization and maintenance provider for 360 Collins Street, one of Melbourne's most prestigious office buildings. The order will ensure smooth flow of tenants and visitors in all of the 39 floors of the building.

KONE is entrusted with the task of modernizing and servicing 16 elevators at 360 Collins Street. With KONE EcoDisc® technology, the elevator machines are considerably smaller and generate significantly less heat than conventional hoisting mechanisms. KONE will also install to the building KONE Access(TM) solution, a smart access control system, to provide a safe and comfortable working environment for the tenants.

Located in the heart of Melbourne's business district, 360 Collins Street has a total net lettable area of approximately 44,000 square meters. The building has a 3 star NABERS (The National Australian Built Environment Rating System) Energy rating and all units modernized by KONE are equipped with the latest energy-efficient technology to help 360 Collins Street to reduce its carbon footprint and eliminate energy inefficiencies.

The upgrade work is expected to begin in August 2015 with completion scheduled for July 2017.

The order was booked in the first quarter of 2015.
