Taucha, 29 June 2004 - LINTEC Information Technologies AG (Securities Code Number/ISIN DE0006486004) has thanks to a wide-ranging transaction achieved the far-reaching restructuring of its financing and liabilities with effect from 28 June 2004. The transaction involves the sale of LINTEC's 86.25% shareholding in its VC arm, MVC Mitteldeutsche Venture Capital AG, Taucha, to DKB Finance GmbH, Berlin, the complete debt relief of LINTEC Information Technologies AG from short-term credit amounting to about EUR7 million provided by a pool of banks, LINTEC's relief from the EUR12.8 million guarantee for loans issued by DKB Deutsche Kreditbank AG, Berlin, and the full debt relief of rfi mobile technologies AG, Mönchengladbach, from these DKB loans. Loans issued by other members of the banking pool had previously been redeemed by DKB. All the parties involved have agreed to disclose neither the purchase price for the MVC shareholding nor the valuation of the other elements of the transaction on which agreement was based. As a result of this transaction, the LINTEC Group's negative equity at the end of 2003 and in Q1/2004 is now positive again. Furthermore, the equity of the individual company LINTEC Information Technologies AG, which in the past was always positive, has now been considerably strengthened. In the view of the Management Board, this marks the fulfilment of one of the key conditions for the restructuring of LINTEC. Under its "3-pillar strategy", LINTEC is now concentrating on the three following areas: production and service, business IT, and its own IT accessories and consumer electronics. Relieving the company of its biggest single headache, this transaction (to quote LINTEC's Management Board and Supervisory Board) "opens up new prospects".
