WellCare Commits to Tampa Headquarters through 2030

TAMPA, Fla., March 5, 2018

Located off the cross section of Waters Avenue and Henderson Road, WellCare's 380,000-square-foot campus sits on 71 acres and is made up of five office buildings, a cafeteria, a fitness center, walking trails, basketball courts, tennis courts and offers covered parking and walkways, which are connected by scenic wildlife preserves.

WellCare, which was founded by a group of Tampa physicians in 1985, has had a presence in the city for more than 30 years. The company went public and moved to its current corporate headquarters in 2004 when it employed approximately 1,500 associates.

Today, WellCare offers government-sponsored managed care services, including Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) across all 50 U.S. states. It is the largest public company in Tampa and has an annual economic impact of $7.3 billion in the state. Recently named a "World's Most Admired Company" by Fortune magazine, WellCare employs 9,000 associates across the country—more than 4,500 of whom live and work in Tampa Bay. The company prides itself on its culture of service, particularly in the communities it serves, and reported a 2017 corporate volunteer rate of 75 percent—more than double the national average. In December 2017, WellCare served 4.4 million members and reported $17 billion in annual revenue.
