Joining several leading healthcare institutions in the United States, The Medical Center of Plano is the first to use this technology in Texas, and will deploy BloodTrack® within its Emergency Department (ED) to provide authorized caregivers with "just-in-time blood management" in the trauma room.

Treating 30-40 traumas per month, physicians at the hospital can begin the resuscitation process for critically injured patients by obtaining blood products directly from the BloodTrack® Emerge® system in the trauma room.

"Haemonetics is dedicated to helping hospitals improve their blood supply chain to enhance patient safety, advance the quality of medical care and lower costs," said Christopher Simon, CEO of Haemonetics. "We are delighted to provide just-in-time blood management for The Medical Center of Plano and proud to have them join some of the leading healthcare providers in the nation."

"Every second counts, and having immediate access to blood products can make a life-saving difference," said Matthew Carrick, MD, Medical Director of Trauma Services at The Medical Center of Plano. "As our market's leading trauma facility, we treat the most critically injured patients and BloodTrack® gives us peace of mind knowing our patients have the most advanced technology available to treat all trauma cases."
