Staywell Sponsors Florida's Children's Week

TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 17, 2018

"Staywell is thrilled to be a sponsor of Florida's annual Children's Week to help ensure Florida children and families in need have access to the tools and services they need to have better health and quality of life," said Elizabeth Miller, president, WellCare of Florida.

Celebrating its 23^rd year, Children's Week is an annual celebration and advocacy event dedicated to sharing the important message that every child in Florida must be healthy, ready to learn, and able to achieve his or her full potential. Children's Week develops and implements more than 200 community events and activities statewide, bringing thousands of parents, children, policy makers, professionals, community leaders and concerned citizens together to share valuable knowledge and information about children's issues in each community across the state and at the state Capitol.

The annual event will kick off on Sunday, Jan. 21 with the Hanging of the Hands, in which thousands of pieces of hand art will be hung throughout the Capitol Rotunda creating a display of children's art.

"Over the past two months, Staywell associates, preschool children and their chaperones have gathered at our 15 Welcome Rooms across the state to create hand art to show our support for Children's Week," said Miller.

As of Sept. 30, 2017, Staywell serves approximately 757,000 Medicaid members, of which 65,000 members are in the Florida Healthy Kids program, 101,000 Medicare Advantage members, and 30,000 Medicare Prescription Drug Plan members in Florida.
