International Isotopes Inc. Announces The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Has Concluded Its Investigation Of The Company's August 2015 Radiation Exposure Event And Determined No Civil Penalty Will

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, June 13, 2016

The Company took the opportunity to discuss the apparent violations identified by the NRC at a Pre-Enforcement Conference with the NRC on May 3, 2016.  During that conference the Company provided a detailed description of the corrective actions taken to address and prevent reoccurrence of the exposure event.

Based upon the information gathered by the NRC during their inspection and the information provided by the Company, the NRC determined that four violations of NRC requirements occurred.  However, because of the prompt and comprehensive corrective actions taken by the Company and because no previous enforcement action has been taken against International Isotopes Inc. the NRC determined that it will not impose any civil penalty in this case.  The NRC also determined that all of the information provided by the Company with regard to its investigation of the event, the root cause analysis performed, and the corrective action plan that was initiated, were all complete and no additional information will be required by the NRC.
