Gemini Corporation appoints new CEO

CALGARY, March 11, 2016

CALGARY, March 11, 2016 /CNW/ - Gemini Corporation (GKX–TSXV) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter Sametz as President and CEO commencing March 12, 2016. Mr. Sametz has been an Independent Director of Gemini's Board since November, 2013 and a member of both the Audit and Human Resources/Governance Committees.

Mr. Doug Lautermilch, current President & CEO, will retire as planned on March 11, 2016 and has agreed to support Mr. Sametz, as needed, through the transition period on a contract basis.

Mr. Sametz is a professional engineer and holds the Institute of Corporate Directors designation, ICD.D. He has over thirty years of increasing responsibility in a number of organizations within the energy industry and has held a variety of senior management positions over the past 20 years. His recent experience includes leadership roles at a mid-size oil and gas production company with refining assets where, during his 8 year tenure, he undertook the positions of COO, President and finally, Interim CEO during the sale of the company. His knowledge of the industry from both an engineering and field service perspective aligns well with the organization's strategic growth plans.

Mr. Sametz will become a non-independent Director of Gemini and the Board will commence a search for a new Independent Director.
