Fisher Nuts and Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli Announce "My Fresh Twist" Recipe Contest

"There's nothing more gratifying than recreating a tried-and-true family recipe or coming up with your own fresh twist on a traditional dish," said Guarnaschelli. "The Fisher Nuts 'My Fresh Twist' Recipe Contest gives everyone from at-home cooks to budding chefs the chance to create their own inspired signature dish – one they can enjoy and proudly share with the rest of us!"   

Each submission will be featured on www.myfreshtwist.com where Fisher Fans and their friends and families will be able to vote to select the top ten finalists. Voting will take place October 22 through November 5. Guarnaschelli and a panel of judges will choose the grand prize winner from the top ten finalists. The recipes will be judged on their originality, integration of nuts, taste, and visual appeal.

One grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to New York City on December 13 – 15, meet-and-greet with Guarnaschelli, and a signed copy of her new cookbook, Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook. The winning recipe will also be professionally photographed and featured on the Fisher Nuts website and Pinterest page. The grand prize winner will be announced on November 22.

Nine runners up will receive a $100 VISA gift card and a signed copy of Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook by Guarnaschelli. In addition to the grand prize winner and runners up, Fisher Nuts will select five weekly winners from September 10 through October 22 to receive a copy of Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook and a special Fisher Nuts prize package.
