FirstGroup plc (the 'Group'), a leading transport operator in the UK and North America, announces that Richard Adam has decided to tender his resignation as a Non-Executive Director of the Group.

The Board has commenced a formal search for his replacement and Richard has agreed to remain as Chairman of the Group’s Audit Committee until a successor is appointed.

Commenting, FirstGroup Chairman Wolfhart Hauser said:
