Data-Driven Insights Position USG as Leader in Global Health and Safety Performance

USG, a $3.2 billion building products company with more than 175 manufacturing, mining and distribution locations, asked ProcessMAP to support its world-class health and safety management program in 2011. Over a five-month period, USG and ProcessMAP jointly developed a technology blueprint and rapidly deployed the platform company-wide to USG's more than 9,000 employees. The platform serves as the backbone for a wide range of initiatives, supporting USG's commitment to employee health and safety, including regulatory compliance with OSHA and MSHA recordkeeping, as well as safety data analysis and metrics reporting.

With ProcessMAP's global safety management platform, USG achieved the following:

• Revamped and established company-wide consistency in incident and near-miss management (e.g., reporting, investigation and root cause analysis, action items management)
• Streamlined workers' compensation claims management with one-stop reporting to claims Third Party Administrators (TPAs);
• ­­Deployed real-time dashboards to increase transparency and company-wide visibility to safety performance indicators at all levels at USG;
• Performed mobile-based audits and inspections – driving compliance and cutting audit timing significantly;
• Institutionalized proactive action items tracking with compliance calendar.
