SANTIAGO, Chile, July 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The company achieved first place in the RepTrak Chile 2016 study conducted by renowned international consulting firm Reputation Institute, which evaluated 100 companies in a range of industry sectors.

The study's objectives are to identify consumer perceptions of 100 companies in 15 key industry sectors for the country's economy such as energy, mining, forestry, banking, telecommunications, retail, health and food, among other industries. The selection of these companies is carried out through a prior study regarding brand familiarity or recognition, before conducting a voluntary online interview with 3,000 people.

The results of the study position Viña Concha y Toro in first place with a Pulse score of 75.3 in the index used by the RepTrak model, which represents a "Robust" strength level on the scale. This score, based on a total of 100, is an indicator which quantifies the bond generated between the company and the general public based on respect, trust, admiration and good feeling.

"When a company has a better reputation it builds a network of trust around itself (...) making it much easier to capture investment and talent. In the end, this all translates into improvements in their balance sheets or financial statements", says Fernando Prado, Reputation Institute managing partner for Spain and Latin America, who presented the results of the study.

Reputation Institute advises global companies and is internationally renowned for producing the 2016 Global RepTrak 100 ranking which is published each year in Forbes Magazine.

The study's methodology is based on an international standard and used in the RepTrak model developed by Reputation Institute, which measures the strength of the emotional bond between companies and the general public. Furthermore, it evaluates seven dimensions of corporate reputation (products and services, innovation, leadership, governance, performance, workplace and citizenship), and analyses the degree in which these perceptions impact the business through the behaviors which they may generate, such as buying products, recommending the company, positive comments and talent attraction.
