Boston Pizza and the Toronto Blue Jays™ gave Canadian youngsters the chance to be a "Jr. Jay™ for a Day"

TORONTO, Sept. 10, 2017

TORONTO, Sept. 10, 2017 /CNW/ - On Saturday September 9^th, 9 lucky kids from across the country got "called up" to each become a Jr. Jay for a Day with the Toronto Blue Jays. As part of the inaugural Jr. Jay for a Day "signing", the youngsters inked their deal with former Blue Jay and current Buffalo Bisons hitting coach, Devon White. They also received a team jersey and had their picture taken with Blue Jays mascot Ace™ and Boston Pizza's Lionel.

"We were very excited to be work with the Toronto Blue Jays to give these nine future all-stars from across Canada the chance to participate in a very unique and memorable experience with the Blue Jays organization," says James Kawalecki, Director of Marketing, Boston Pizza. "We all grew up with dreams of playing professional baseball, so it was great to be able to work with Boston Pizza to give these kids a taste of what it's like to be a Jr. Jay."

The nine lucky kids won the chance to be a "Jr. Jay for a Day" by entering a national colouring contest within the Boston Pizza Kids Pack. They watched Saturday's game from a luxury suite at Rogers Centre™ and participated in the Jr. Jays Starting Lineup, Seventh-Inning Stretch, and ran the bases after the game.
