Atea launches new software for self-service and process automation

(Sweden) Atea, the largest supplier of IT infrastructure products and
services in the Nordic
and Baltic region, today launches a new software suite, Atea Spintop,
for self-service and process automation in Microsoft client
environments. Replacing repetitive work tasks with automatic work
flows, the new solutions help customers dramatically reduce operation
costs.
 
Gartner predicts that client self-service will account for 58 percent
of all service interactions by 2010, due to their dramatic
contribution to the reduction of cost of operating an IT environment.
Therefore, customers increasingly require solutions for automation
and self-service.
"Self-service and automation of client infrastructure is a
fast-growing area in the IT industry today. In response to customers'
increasing need for solutions in this field, we now focus our
developing efforts in a new subsidiary, Atea Spintop," says Claus

Self-service and process automation reduces operation costs
dramatically by replacing repetitive work tasks with automatic work
flows. Atea Spintop currently contains three products; Jumpstart -
quick time to market for standard automated Microsoft infrastructures
and an excellent way to reduce costs while moving to Windows 7,
Accelerator - a self service portal for ordering and automatically
carrying out it-services, and Compliance Manager - to keep track of
software licenses in a Microsoft infrastructure.
In connection with this week's product launch, new functionality is
introduced that fully automates the process from order to delivery of
a PC-workplace, significantly saving time and reducing the cost of
managing PC replacement and relocation. Building on Atea's dedication
to the implementation of Microsoft Windows 7, functionality for
automatically rolling out Windows 7 is also introduced as part of the
Spintop launch.

own client environment, enabling automation of many of the everyday
tasks handled by the IT department, such as providing access to new
software, ordering new hardware and giving access rights to users. We
see great interest in our products, which have already been
successfully used to reduce costs for more than 70 customers in the
Nordic area including organizations such as Biovitrum, The City of

The Spintop product suite will be marketed and installed by Atea
specialists throughout the Group.
