Eigentlich hatte Lehman Brothers Holdings die Tochterfirma an die Börse bringen wollen. Der jetzige Verkauf am Stück sei "ein sehr positives Ergebnis für die Gläubiger", sagte Verwaltungsratschef Owen Thomas am Montag in New York. Lehman Brothers bekommt 2,7 Milliarden US-Dollar in bar und den Rest in Aktien der Käufer.

Archstone ist einer der größten Vermieter der USA mit zuletzt mehr als 54.400 Einheiten in 169 Kommunen. Die Appartementanlagen stehen bevorzugt in Ballungsräumen wie New York City, San Francisco oder Washington, DC. Lehman hatte die Immobilienfirma 2007 zusammen mit einem Partner für 22,2 Milliarden Dollar übernommen und erst in diesem Jahr die alleinige Kontrolle erlangt. Das ebnete letztlich den Weg für den Verkauf.

Lehman Brothers war im September 2008 wegen missglückter Spekulationen auf dem US-Häusermarkt spektakulär zusammengebrochen. Ein neues Management sammelt seitdem die Scherben auf. Alte Geschäfte werden abgewickelt und Vermögenswerte verkauft, um den Gläubigern zumindest einen Teil ihres verlorenen Geldes zurückgeben zu können. Es sind bereits mehrere Milliarden geflossen.

vielleicht passiert ja beides. zuerst der verkauf und dann der börsengang...

Ich schätze das auch so ein, dass der ArchStone-Verkauf einem späteren Börsen-Gang von ArchStone gar nicht entgegensteht.

Ursprünglich war zwar geplant, ArchStone in der Weise zu verkaufen, dass Lehman SELBST diese Immobilien-Tochter an die Börse bringt und sie auf diesem Wege "verkauft".

Der sich jetzt andeutende Weg (echter VERKAUF der Tochter an die zwei Käufer, die das Gekaufte dann SPÄTER an die Börse bringen) eröffnet für die LEHMAN Brothers immerhin die Möglichkeit, von denen zwei Käufern nicht nur Dividende zu cassieren, sondern später auch an deren CURS-Gewinnen zu participieren:

LEHMAN hat einen Teil des Kauf-Preises in ACTIEN derer zwei Käufer erhalten, die im Werte zulegen dürften, wenn ArchStone's Börsen-Gang erfolgreich verläuft.
