RE:Chris Grove's new video about JV, forward selling, off-take
Thanks thairat, what a great find!!

Here is my summary of the interview:

- CCE has two flagship projects that are equally important: the Blue River Project in British Columbia and the Ashram REE project in Quebec. Focus in 2015 will be on the Ashram.

- The pilot plant will start in February 2015 and will be operational up until July/august 2015 and reproduce the extremely positive Ashram metallurgy. Shareholders will have continued updates on progress with the metallurgy through the different stages.

- The pilot plant will produce the mineral concentrate CCE is looking to market to global players in that industry.

- CCE has raised 11,1 million in capital in 2014. This allows the company to do a large drilling program of 4000 meters at the Ashram, starting in a couple of weeks (before the end of January 2015). Results are expected in May 2015.

- The most important thing for CCE would be to establish a joint-venture, sale or off-take agreement with any of the industry partners that have been looking at the two projects.

- With current share prices, CCE certainly is an opportunity. This goes for many of the companies on the TSXV which today is at an ‘all time low’

I suspect that at current REE prices the Tasman deposit is uneconomic. The bigger flaw in Jack’s analysis is they plan to sell concentrate and I would like to know the price they will receive for that concentrate from the only company in Europe that has the capability to separate heavy rare earths. Internal Chinese pricing or export pricing? I think the answer is internal Chinese pricing for concentrate. This makes what they think is ore, waste.
The second question I have for Jack, Christopher and Tasman’s management is who has ever separated a eudialyte concentrate economically? How do you deal with the double sulphate salt?

Lifton on Pricing

27.01.15 19:09
As for pricing: whoever said that the competitive price is Chinese domestic is wrong. The competitive price in Europe is Chinese export. In fact at an EU meeting last Fall Siemens stated that they would pay a domestic European supplier the Chinese export price without question. Any subsidies added to that for security of supply would be an EU Federal issue, and, in fact, has been proposed. - See more at: investorintel.com/rare-earth-intel/...n-metals/#comment-400972

Lifton über zukünftigen Dysprosium Preis

27.01.15 19:18
Jack Lifton on January 27, 2015 at 12:32 AM said:
Gentlemen,

A colleague emailed me today that Metal-Pages is showing Dy today at $475/kg. That price is not the point. There is no good price discovery mechanism for dysprosium other than actually making an offer to buy the material, and those that do that for use outside of China are few and far between and their contracts are not at all public. The point is that Tasman is betting that by the time it comes into production the Dy price will be higher than it is today. I think that is a very good bet, since China’s costs of extracting HREEs from its ionic clays have now been forced to add environmental costs both going forward and for remediation. Dysprosium production must be increased or the growth of the use of Nd-Fe-B magnets must stop. There has been as much reduction of Dy content in magnets as is possible and Chinese production cannot keep up. The Chinese rare earth permanent magnet supply chain is substantially augmented already by recycling.
To put it another way: Chinese new dysprosium production growth is tapped out; all new dysprosium production will have to come from outside of China; ionic adsorption clays exist outside of China but extracting HREEs from them poses the same problems of environmental degradation and remediation everywhere. The key to additional production of much needed dysprosium and other crucial metals such as terbium and yttrium is the mining of hard rock deposits...

I asked - Do you have any timeline or goal for a JV?
He replied - "we already have about 27 NDA’s outstanding and on this list is everyone who is anyone in the world currently producing the REE’s. In regards some of these on this list, we last met with them in June of 2012 and at that time we had just released our PEA, which was based upon us producing a 10% mineral concentrate; this was one of the times that I was told that, when it would get interesting to them was if and when we could produce a better than 30% mineral concentrate.

And of course, now we can produce a better than 40% mineral concentrate.

However, laying on top of this potential interest for a JV, was the year of 2013 in China which was an extremely slow, if not almost, negligible year for foreign investment, following the direction of the new President Xi, who was a real cold shower on such."
