Mittwoch, 30.11.2016 15:05

OAKLAND, Calif. --(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Pandora (NYSE:P), the go-to music source for fans and artists, released the second annual Top Thumb Hundred, a ranking of the 100 most thumbed up songs of the year that reflects our listeners’ favorite discoveries in 2016.

So, who made the cut? While Rihanna snagged the top spot with “Work” and graced the list a total of five times, Drake takes the crown for the second year in a row, claiming this year’s #2 slot and an all-time high of 14 appearances-- up from 12 in Top Thumb Hundred 2015. Big names secured their fair share of spots, but emerging acts also had a strong showing – 11 of the 100 songs came from our 2016 Artists to Watch predictions. For more trends and fun facts about this year’s list, check out our blog.

"Household names will always be a part of our Top Thumb Hundred, but we are especially proud that emerging artists, and specifically those we identified last year via our Artists to Watch list, have taken the spotlight on this year's list,” said Lars Murray, Senior Vice President, Music Makers Group at Pandora. “Pandora continues to be the place where listeners hear music they already love, but our ability to also help them discover new artists and music is unparalleled and still growing.”
