In January 2012, Lustros, Inc. purchased a majority stake of Sulfatos Chile, SA. ("Sulfatos"), a Chilean private company that is currently involved in the manufacturing of Copper Sulfate and Copper mining.
Sulfatos purchased 830 hectares (2,051 acres) of land, which has been rezoned for industrial use for its newly operating Copper Sulfate plant. The current plant, appraised at $33M on a replacement basis and $125M on a discounted cash basis (appraisal available), is situated 15 miles from the company-owned Anica copper mine, 25 hectares in size. The Anica mine has been exploited since 2008, extracting approximately 400 tons of material per month with a high copper grade.www.lustros.com/
