THIRD DISTRIBUTION PERCENTAGES ANNOUNCED FOR LEHMAN BROTHERS HOLDINGS INC. AND ITS DEBTOR AFFILIATES
New York, March 27, 2013 – Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. announced today in a court filing the percentage recovery that will be distributed on April 4, 2013 to holders of allowed claims against various former Lehman Debtors.
Lehman"s third distribution to creditors pursuant to its confirmed chapter 11 plan will total approximately $14.2 billion. This distribution includes (1) approximately $9.4 billion of payments to third-party creditors and non-controlled affiliates, (2) $4.4 billion of payments among the Lehman Debtors and their controlled affiliates, and (3) $370 million of payments to recently allowed claims of amounts those claimants would have received had those claims been allowed at the time of the previous distributions
(see Exhibit B to the court filing, Docket # 36209, for further detail).
In accordance with the chapter 11 plan, which was confirmed on December 6, 2011, and subject to available funds, the Lehman Debtors" fourth distribution to creditors is anticipated to be made on or about September 30, 2013.

Gut viereinhalb Jahre nach dem Zusammenbruch der Investmentbank Lehman Brothers will ihre Nachfolgefirma erneut Milliarden an Gläubiger ausschütten.
Am 4. April würden 14,2 Mrd. Dollar ausgezahlt, erklärte das Unternehmen am Mittwoch. Es wäre die dritte Zahlung, seitdem Lehman im vergangenen Jahr das Insolvenzverfahren abschloss. Sie würde die Summe auf etwa 47 Mrd. Dollar hochschrauben. Insgesamt sollen mehr als 65 Mrd. Dollar gezahlt werden. Damit würden Gläubiger im Durchschnitt 21 Prozent ihrer genehmigten Forderungen eintreiben können.

Lehman Brothers deal slashes Swiss unit's claims by billions

(Reuters) - Lehman Brothers Holding Inc has slashed billions of dollars of claims made by a former Swiss derivatives unit as details of the agreement were presented in a court filing.
Lehman Brothers emerged from bankruptcy a year ago but it is still working to resolve several outstanding legal battles. The agreement with Switzerland-based Lehman Brothers Finance AG, or LBF, was the last major dispute to be settled, according to Daniel Ehrmann, Lehman Brother Holding's international chief.
"This settlement avoids years of potentially costly litigation and allows LBF to significantly accelerate its distributions to creditors while providing LBHI with a significant recovery," said Ehrmann in a statement.
The agreement was announced last week, but details were not disclosed until a Tuesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan.
LBF agreed to cuts its claim against Lehman Brothers Holding to $942 million from $15.4 billion, according to court papers. LBF also assigned to Lehman Brothers Holding billions of dollars of claims that LBF asserted against certain Lehman affiliates.
In return, Lehman Brothers Holding cut its claim against the Swiss business to $8.75 billion from an original claim of $14.2 billion. The holding company also agreed to partially subordinate its claim against LBF to the claims of LBF's third-party and affiliate creditors.
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Manhattan must approved the deal. A hearing has been requested for April 24.

Die US-Holdinggesellschaft der in der Finanzkrise zusammengebrochenen Investmentbank hat eine Einigung der von Frege verwalteten Deutschland-Tochter mit der Handelssparte Lehman Brothers Inc vor dem Insolvenzgericht in New York angefochten. Richter James Peck muss die Einigung absegnen. Dabei geht es zwar vordergründig nur um einen unbesicherten Anspruch Freges von 600 Millionen Dollar gegen die Lehman Brothers Inc, den die US-Holding als „völlig überhöht“ bezeichnet. Doch Gläubiger in den USA erwarten, dass der Streit nur der Auftakt zu einer größeren Auseinandersetzung zwischen den Insolvenzverwaltern wird, in der auch die Honorare für Frege wieder zur Diskussion stehen, wie ein Insider sagte.
