One January Effect candidate worth a look is Motricity(MOTR_), a provider of mobile data solutions and services that enable wireless carriers to deliver mobile data services to their subscribers. Motrictiy is the poster child for beaten-down stocks. It was trading as high as $23.09 in 2011 and now fetches just 90 cents a share. That's a total loss of 95% so far in 2011 for MOTR.

This stock can't seem to stop going down. Shares of Motricity are printing new 52-week lows this morning as fund managers continue to dump this name due to its horrible performance in 2011. That said, this is one of the names that I think has the biggest upside if the January Effect takes holds since its one of the worst performers in 2011.

My trading plan for MOTR is to get long this stock at the first sign of a decent up day when volume is tracking in near or above its three-month average action of 776,708 shares. This is going to mean you're buying MOTR near its lows since the bounce has to come from somewhere in a stock that continues to print new 52-week lows. Watch for a trading session when the stock is ticking up in early trading and the volume is heavy. Make sure to use a mental stop that's just below the 52-week low once we get some high-volume strength.

The bounce in MOTR could be huge, maybe even over 100%, since this stock is so beaten-down. This makes the risk-to-reward attractive for MOTR if we start to see any signs of life in this stock. This stock also has a huge short interest at 28.6% of the tradable float. A monster short squeeze could kick off if the hedge funds pounce on this name for a January Effect play.

Desweiteren bin ich in diesem Wert nicht als Investor, sondern als Trader investiert!

Lies das mal genauer durch , dann wird auch Dir sehr schnell klar dass MOTR nicht so schnell pleite gehen kann , da sie einen großen Fisch á Warren Buffet als Investor haben.

Ach ja bzgl. PRMW: Deine Vorhersage einer Primo Water ( PRMW ) Pleite im Q2 2012 macht so überhaupt keinen Sinn, da die Insider alleine im Monat Dezember Aktien im Wert von über $1 Million zurückgekauft haben.

Die sollten wohl Dich besser Dich fragen, anstatt das Geld zum Fenster rauszuschmeißen.

As Facebook prepares to go public, anything in the social networking space has seen a monster increase in value. Stocks like Linkedin Corporation (NYSE:LNKD) are jumping today, trading at $76.45, +4.08 (+5.64%). In addition, Chinese social player Renren Inc. (NYSE:RENN) is trading at $5.63, +0.62 (+12.38%). While these stocks have already run higher and are no longer plays, it is interesting to think about other sympathy plays that may run. The key is to look for the extension to the social networking websites, what will the publicity of social media attract.

Extending out of the circle one must think about mobile advertising companies. As more smart phones are used and Facebook is obviously utilized on these phones as well as Twitter and Linkedin, phone banner adds will become a key income producer. The next step is to figure out who has the basis to help deliver the advertising.

My mind always looks for the cheapest, beaten down play. This brings up a clear winner that is high risk but very high reward. While the stock has been pounded to 52 week lows, it does have some significant upside if they can start producing and turn things around.

With Motricity trading at $0.77 per share, it appears to have a high level of upside should they piggy back of the mobile social crazy. As Facebook ramps up this side of their business, as well as others, look for companies that build this infrastructure to take off.

Die heutige Candle ist bearish. Tageshoch lag heute bei $1.68 und Tagestief bei $1.33. Schlußkurs $1.41.
MOTR weist aktuell 2 Gaps bei $1.29 und $0.98 auf. Ich rechne damit das zumindest das Gap bei $1.29 geschlossen wird , wenn das Handelsvolumen etwas nachläßt.

Nach ein Tag Pause der Rally gestern hat MOTR heute wieder Fahrt aufgenommen und bei $1.74 den Handelstag geschlossen.

ich bin normalerweise bei diesen Wert bei WO zu Hause, die Seite ist heute zusammen gebrochen.

schrieb ich heute schon drüben, zum einen war es natürlich nach dem netten Anstieg der letzten tage unter hohen Volumen wichtig das zumindestens das Gap bei ca. 1,28 $ geschlossen wurde.
Was ich nach dem starken Anstiegen der letzten Tage für RSI auch nicht als das verkehrteste betrachte.
Auffällig wieder, dieses enorm starke Volumen womit der Kurs hoch gezogen wurde, das sind keine Kleinanleger in Scharen die da auf einmal in den Wert rennen, davon bin ich überzeugt.
Da wir nahe am TH geschlossen haben könnte morgen wieder ein neues GAP bei den Amis entstehen.
Nach Börsenschluß kam dann noch die News das am 1.03.12 das Q4/2011 in einer Telefonkonferenz veröffentlicht wird, anbei der link falls noch nicht eingestellt:

Da es bis dahin noch einige Tage sind denke ich nicht das es der Hauptgrund war für den Anstieg.
Weiterhin ist es verwunderlich das man in Frankfurt den Wert ab 19:04 Uhr nicht mehr gehandelt hat.
Hat einer dafür eine erklärung?
