Karachi—The First Wind Energy Project of the country will start its trial energy production from June 2012 which would be provided to national grid free of cost till the start of commercial operation in November this year.
Pakistan has the potential to produce up to 346 GW (1GW = 1000 MW) of electricity through wind energy alone, provided we utilize the God gifted wind energy potential and more companies start their work on building the wind energy projects in the country. These views were expressed by Brigadier Retd. Tariq Izaz, Project Director, Fauji Fertilizer Company Energy Limited while talking to a group of journalists who visited country’s first wind energy project of 50 MW at Jhampir, District Thatta on Thursday.

Based on the best commercial terms… After an extensive technical, financial and commercial evaluation process, Project Company selected a consortium of M/s Nordex & M/s Descon as their preferred EPC Contractor.
