Sangamo Therapeutics Announces Completion of Public Offering of Common Stock and Exercise in Full of Underwriters' Option to Purchase Additional Shares

RICHMOND, Calif., April 30, 2018
RICHMOND, Calif., April 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SGMO) today announced the completion of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 14,156,500 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $16.25 per share, including 1,846,500 shares sold pursuant to the exercise in full of the underwriters' option to purchase additional shares. All of the shares were sold by Sangamo. Including the option exercise, the aggregate gross proceeds to Sangamo from the offering, before deducting the underwriting discounts and commissions and offering expenses, were approximately $230.0 million.
Sangamo anticipates using the net proceeds from the offering to support its own and its partnered gene therapy, genome editing, cell therapy and gene regulation product candidates and research programs, its manufacturing facilities and other business development activities, as well as for general corporate purposes, including working capital.
BofA Merrill Lynch, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC and Cowen and Company, LLC acted as joint book-running managers for the offering.
