Las Vegas Sands Completes 100,000 Hygiene Kits for Clean the World

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 24, 2017

More than 1900 Las Vegas Sands team members and community volunteers participated in the Las Vegas Sands 2017 Global Hygiene Kit Build with Clean the World.  Clean the World will distribute the assembled kits to service organizations working to aid vulnerable populations around the world.  In the United States, the kits will go to organizations that work to provide relief, resources and support for the homeless, including through Fresh Start Mobile Showers, a traveling hygiene unit that provides showers, hygiene supplies and other support to the homeless in Southern Nevada, introduced by Las Vegas Sands and Clean the World on July 27.

"Building hygiene kits for Clean the World has united our team members around the world toward a common goal – to bring essential hygiene supplies to those in need.  It's an incredible effort by our team members and communities, and one that we look forward to each year," said Ron Reese, senior vice president of global communications and corporate affairs at Las Vegas Sands.  "It's gratifying to know that the discarded soap and other amenities from our properties are being recycled to support such an important cause."

After the completion of the 2017 build series, LVS properties will have created a total of 500,000 hygiene kits over the past four years to support Clean the World's mission to promote good health and well-being around the globe through improved access to soap and other hygiene products.  LVS' build events also provide financial support to Clean the World – for each kit assembled, LVS contributes $1 to the Clean the World Foundation to accelerate its mission in two critical areas, ongoing hygiene education and disaster response.
