ArcBest Receives 2017 Prism Award

FORT SMITH, Ark., Oct. 18, 2017

The prestigious Prism awards recognize U.S. companies that lead the payroll industry with innovative practices in the areas of technology, performance, management and process improvement.

"I am very pleased that our payroll department has been honored for working to improve our processes," said Erin K. Gattis, ArcBest chief human resources officer. "We have talented employees at ArcBest who live out our company values every day, and this team truly represents our spirit of collaboration and excellence."

ArcBest was honored for its efforts to implement new practices at a management level, which included utilizing the four disciplines of execution framework and converting employee compensation from paper check to direct deposit. In 2016, the ArcBest payroll department went from processing payroll for 12 companies in 27 states to doing so for six companies in 44 states.

"ArcBest Corporation has implemented multiple processes within the organization to ensure its payroll department operates with accuracy and efficiency," said Dan Maddux, executive director of the APA. "ArcBest stands as an example of how the payroll department can contribute vastly to the overall well-being of a successful company."

In 2015, the ArcBest payroll team received the Prism Award for Technology in Payroll.
