NUREMBERG, Germany, Nov. 24, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:AEIS), the world leader in precision power conversion, will unveil today the Thyro-PX(TM) SCR thyristor power controller at the annual SPS IPC Drives event in Nuremberg. The technology-packed Thyro-PX power controller from Advanced Energy® (AE®) is the newest model in the popular Thyro-Family product line that allows customers to advance their processes with precise, reliable temperature control.

The newly engineered Thyro-PX power controller offers remarkable flexibility, exacting control accuracy and advanced automation capabilities for thermal processes across a broad range of industries worldwide. Available in 230 V to 690 V options, single-phase and three-phase, the Thyro-PX model precisely controls electrical power, current or voltage with high precision and reproducibility. Easy to configure and easy to integrate, the power controller features seven communications options and four operating modes.

Yuval Wasserman, president and CEO of Advanced Energy, said, "For decades, the Thyro-Family of power controllers has established the industry-standard, first with analog and then digital power control technologies. Our leadership continues with the Thyro-PX, which combines innovative, flexible, configurable and new trend-setting features that will shape the new industry-standard-with smart connectivity and simple integration for your thermal processing systems."

Advanced Energy will showcase its Thyro-Family of power controllers, including the new Thyro-PX model, along with its non-contact temperature measurement systems at the SPS IPC Drives exhibition. Display products will include:

  • Thyro-Family of thyristor power controllers for industrial applications requiring precise thermal control-ranging from 24 V to 690 V and 8 A to 2900 A-with innovative operating concepts, touch displays, bus communications and more
  • Sekidenko OR4000E optical fiber thermometers (OFT) with real-time emissivity measurement and compensation for advanced thermal measurement and control

The SPS IPC Drives event will take place November 24-26, in Nuremberg, Germany, at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Sponsored by Mesago Messe Frankfurt Group, this event perpetuates research, product development and application solutions in automation and drives technology. AE experts will be available at the company's booth (#3-350) to demonstrate these products and discuss how the company continues to innovate, developing and integrating the latest in automation technologies.
