Unisys Federal Wins Washington Technology Industry Innovators Award for Efficient and Cost-Effective Business Practices

RESTON, Va., Nov. 1, 2017

The awards recognize companies using acquisitions, corporate restructurings, strategic hiring and strategic alliances to bring more innovative solutions to their clients.

Washington Technology cited Unisys Federal's internal processes that "have either resulted in operational efficiencies or cost savings." These functions include management approvals, operations, employee training and development, and recruiting and clearances. The publication also recognized the company's industry domain-focused structure and its ability to pull in commercial sector best practices to meet the needs of federal clients.

Unisys Federal was one of five companies selected for the award from a field of more than 20 finalists.

Washington Technology presented the award to Unisys and the other winners at a ceremony in October in McLean, Va. Also at the ceremony, Unisys client U.S. Customs and Border Protection was honored as a finalist for the Government Computer News DigIT Award for the Firearms, Armor and Credentials Tracking System, a mobile platform that makes it easier for Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to keep track of their weapons and body armor. The DigIT Awards recognize transformative technology that is truly reinventing government and the pioneering IT professionals who are driving them forward.

In October, Unisys Federal also was selected by software company Deltek as the recipient of its 2017 Innovation Award for its groundbreaking use of technology to more efficiently serve U.S. federal clients.
