The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation Awards More Than $100,000 in Scholarships to Employees and Their Children

LEBANON, Tenn., Sept. 8, 2016

The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation is a nonprofit corporation created by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® in 1993. The Foundation has awarded millions of dollars in grants to support numerous nonprofits and charitable programs. It also supports the annual Employee Scholarship Program, which recognizes and rewards the accomplishments of Cracker Barrel employees and their children who excel in their studies and serve their communities. Since 1996, the program has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to more than 800 students.

Scholarship recipients are selected annually from submissions received from every restaurant region across the country as well as Cracker Barrel's Home Office and Distribution Center in Lebanon, TN.

This year the scholarship amount was raised from $1,500 to $2,500, resulting in the highest number of submissions in the program's history. According to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation President Terry Deas, "We want our employees and their children to have opportunities to excel on the job and in life, while achieving their personal goals. Our scholarship recipients are commendable individuals, and we could not be more proud to have them as part of the Cracker Barrel family."

The Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation Scholarship Program accepts applications annually from Cracker Barrel employees and their children. All submissions are evaluated in an objective manner based on factors such as high school or college grades, standardized test results, extracurricular activities and community service.
