CLEVELAND, Jan. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a leading global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, today announced that it has been certified to the American Chemistry Council's (ACC) Responsible Care Management System® (RCMS). Certification was granted by an independent, third-party auditor, based on PolyOne's conformance to the RCMS's comprehensive environmental health, safety and security requirements.

"It is an honor and a privilege to be recognized as a Responsible Care company," said Robert M. Patterson, chairman, president and CEO, PolyOne Corporation.  "Our global team of associates strives to uphold the important values imbedded within sustainability and corporate responsibility, as we collaborate, serve our customers and give back to our communities."

The Responsible Care Guiding Principles are the foundation of Responsible Care.  Through these principles, ACC member and Responsible Care Partner companies pledge to improve environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) performance for facilities, processes and products throughout their operating system.  In order to receive certification, an ACC member or Partner company must demonstrate conformance to the Responsible Care Management System's comprehensive set of EHS&S requirements, which are validated through an independent, third-party audit process.

"Responsible Care is our industry's commitment to working and performing with safety and sustainability as top priorities," said Cal Dooley, president and CEO, ACC. "We are pleased to officially recognize PolyOne as a Responsible Care certified company.  PolyOne exemplifies performance excellence through its commitment to the Responsible Care Guiding Principles, and its employees can be proud of the culture of continuous improvement in environmental, health, safety and security demonstrated in its recent certification."
