First National Community Bank Enhances Capital Position by Divesting Monroe County Branch Banking Activities

DUNMORE, Pa., Aug. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- First National Community Bancorp, Inc. (OTCQB: FNCB), the parent company of Dunmore-based First National Community Bank, today announced the execution of a Purchase and Assumption Agreement ("Agreement") for the sale of its retail banking activities in Monroe County, Pennsylvania to ESSA Bank & Trust, the wholly owned subsidiary of ESSA Bancorp, Inc. (NasdaqGS:ESSA). The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2013. [Refer to SEC Form 8-K for the terms of the transaction].
