PRESS RELEASE PJSC «MMC «NORILSK NICKEL» BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVES SIGNING THE CONTRACT ON SULPHUR PROJECT WITH SNC-LAVALIN November 8, 2016, Moscow, the Board of Directors of PJSC «MMC «NORILSK NICKEL» (hereinafter Nornickel or the Company) approves signing the contract on sulfur dioxide capture project for Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant located at the Company's Polar Division (hereinafter NMP Sulphur Project) with SNC-Lavalin, Canada. Under the contract, SNC-Lavalin will develop a detailed project design documentation by the end of 2017. NMP Sulphur Project is a major environmental initiative forming an inherent part of the Company's downstream modernization program. The project targets a drastic reduction of sulphur dioxide emissions through implementation of the most efficient technical solutions. NMP Sulphur Project represents the second phase of the Company's large scale environmental program with an ultimate goal to reduce air emissions at Polar Division by 75%. The first phase included downstream reconfiguration and asset modernization, as part of which Nickel Plant was successfully phased out in August 2016 and modernized Talnakh Concentrator has been commissioned.
